3-21-11 Winners

Today was a big day. A year's worth of work was rewarded and as you can see, Cabot Rea joined us for lunch. The awards are nice but I am so grateful that the Lord has blessed me with favor. He has fought my battles all year and has taught me many things through his grace. Thank you Dear Lord. I live my life for you.

3-20-11 Ten to One

That's how many stitches I should have in an inch. 10 tiny stitches! This is the back of the quilt I am working on. I have a ways to go before I get to 10. But I am improving with each stitch and I can hear my mom's voice coaxing me along.

3-9-11 Flying fingers

This picture was a fluke-but I love it. With the low light-it's a bit blurry when Taylor moved. But I love how it looks like his fingers are "fying" with texting---Decided to keep the photo in my blog- because after all-- I am seeing this pose more and more these days.

3-8-11 She still stands

It's cold-wet-dreary-ugly outside... and yet-look at Old Glory-- flying majestically and strong. Thank you God. For our freedom and for our right to worship you.

3-7-11 Today's Devotion

Deep in my heart I say. "The Lord is all I need; I can depend on him!" Lamentations 3:24.

Thank you Dear Lord.
Amen

3-6-11 Please Pray For Him

Lewis Banks is the grandfather figure for my grandsons on their dad's side. He is very sick tonight and we fear his life may end soon.

Dear Lord, please bring peace to this family and give them comfort in your love. Our hearts are heavy with sadness. But as we ask you for comfort, we can rejoice for the choice that "Buffalo" has made to make you part of his life. May we find a way to celebrate his life and sing praise to you our protector. Amen

3-3-11 A Season for Everything

To Every Thing There is a Season - Ecclesiastes 3. 1-8 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

These are the flowers from a few weeks ago in my office. They are withering and all sad looking. Kinda of depressing then I thought of this Bible Verse. I felt better-it's just how it is supposed to be. A season of everything -God is in control and things are just as they should be.

Another thought I had then is this cold dreary winter will be over soon and a NEW SEASON will be upon us.

3-2-11 Vroom Vroom

A friend of mine just posted something about hearing her daughter in her bedroom and the sweetness of her chatter. Made me think about my own kids and their alone times when they didn't know I was listening. Mallory used to dress her dog up and ride her all around the yard on her golf cart- showing "Rachel" the town she had made among the trees. I would sit in my window and just watch as she carried on with that patient dog. Years later, Taylor came along and with that came the monster trucks and dirt bikes with little men and imaginative narration. Many times, he would sit at my feet and play while I would grade papers or read. Soothing is the perfect word to describe it. Now I have my little Dexter playing with the same trucks and making the same sounds. Vroom Vroom-- ahhhhh music to my ears!

3-1-11 To be a man

Taylor got new shoes and had to compare the difference to his old shoes. He is in a man's shoe-- how did that happen?? My boy is soon to be a man but in my heart he will always be my little Tater Tot!
